UMEE – Marine Electrical Engineer – Electro Technical Officer (ETO) at Operation Level (STCW III/6, Sec. A. III/6).
The standards of competence that have to be met by seafarers are defined in Part A of the STCW Convention 1978 for the Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers Convention as amended in (Manila).
This course covers the minimum standard of competence for Marine Electrical Engineer (electro-technical officers), as per the STCW Code Table A-111/6 .
It sets out the education and training to achieve the following functions at the Operational level as detailed in the IMO Model course No. 7.08. These functions are:
- Function 1 – Electrical, Electronic and Control engineering at the Operational Level.
- Function 2 – Maintenance and Repair at the operational level.
- Function 3 – Controlling the operation of the ship and care for persons on board at the operational level.
